Summary:
The position plays a key role in advancing new drug candidates within the VelocImmune antibody pipeline from initial discovery through lead antibody identification. This position entails aligning cross-functional and inter-department activities as needed to optimize delivery of new antibody-based drug candidates that meet a pre-defined profile. The individual will play a lead role in critical review and management of data, in monitoring workflow, and organizing/leading working group meetings in order to chart progress relative to goals and to define paths forward.
Responsibilities:
Define timing and scope of antibody working group meetings in collaboration with Program Management.
Working closely with scientists within Therapeutic Proteins and Therapeutic Focus Areas, taking a lead role in assembling data for working group meetings.
Organize and lead antibody working group as well as smaller group meetings to facilitate therapeutic candidate selection and further development.
Identify key strategic issues and communicate them to senior management on an ongoing basis.
Work with legal to compile and interpret data in support of patent filings and prosecutions.
Prepare status reports and Executive Summaries for weekly communication to senior management.
Experience and Required Skills:
Requirements:
We are looking for Master degree in Biology , Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field with 2-4 years industry/academic experience working in therapeutic antibody discovery from the development phase through IND filing .
-Hands-on experience in antibody expression, production, biochemical characterization, and binding kinetics/affinity
Knowledge of with a preference for work experience in the following areas: molecular biology, protein purification, protein characterization, biomolecular interactions, and assay development.
-Working knowledge of immunology with a focus on antibody generation, isolation and characterization
Experience with intellectual property management and patent filings is desirable.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience with software packages for scientific data analysis (Prism, Spotfire, etc.), gene and protein structural analysis (MacVector, Rasmol, Pymol, etc.) and project management (MS Office, etc.)
A strong attention to detail is required
