Summary:
We are looking for a Colony Manager. This person would be responsible for the management of genetically modified mouse colonies in a large volume, high-throughput environment. Key responsibility is the generation, coordination, and delivery of mouse cohorts for research studies.
Responsibilities:
Maintain mouse colonies and manage data records.
Collect information from appropriate databases to make decisions on cohort generation and delivery.
Design and implement standard and complex breeding strategies to
maximize production while minimizing production time,
Create production timelines and communicate actions to staff.
Generate delivery schedules and coordinate transfer of cohorts to investigators.
Communicate with husbandry, veterinary, and research staff to coordinate animal space for breeding and housing.
Participate in group operations and coordination.
Experience and Required Skills:
Requirements:
Masters degree or equivalent in biology or related field.
4-5 years of experience with breeding of genetically modified mice
Knowledge of the complete mouse breeding process.
Experience with the use of databases for the management of mouse colonies in a high volume operation is preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to details are vital to this position.
Must have strong communication skills.
Dedication to team work is essential.
Managerial and leadership skills are desirable.
This position will require the individual to pass a physical before beginning employment.
