Summary:
The IT Laboratory Services Operations Manager provides expertise and leadership in the daily operations of the support, maintenance, and deployment of the IT systems utilized in the laboratory areas of the company. These systems include standalone workstations and application systems used for instrument control and data gathering and analysis. This position is responsible for development of operational support strategies, standard operating procedures and best practices for the Lab System Support Desk. This may include handling budget items, performing resource planning and providing staffing recommendations. This position will also be a resource for other services provided by IT.

Responsibilities:
o Establishment of absent best practices and processes utilizing ITIL Framework
o SLA/OLA
o Leadership and management responsibilities for IT Laboratory Services Operational personnel
o Customer Focus
o Management of 3rd Party Resources
o Collaborate with laboratory personnel managing the installation and maintenance of Laboratory Equipment (Biomek, ABI, Microscopes, Sequencing, Robotics, etc.)
o Manage vendor activities enabling the support of third party applications and services into the lab environment
o Administration, support and maintenance of multi-site Laboratory Systems infrastructure servers and services adhering to agreed upon service levels
o Frontline support for applications utilized in the lab environment
o Management of open incidents and request in management system
o Review and approve capital expenditures and laboratory software purchases Automating and processes and workflows

Experience and Required Skills:
Requirements:
o Pharmaceutical or Biotech Industry Experience a must.
o Biotech experiences a plus.
o Experience drafting and improving processes and procedures
o Experience with GxP practices and/or FDA regulated environment
o Experience establishing and reporting on metrics
o Minimum of 3 years in a supervisor or manager role
o Minimum of 3 years in a customer facing support role
o Minimum of 5 years experience working with Lab Systems
o Experience supporting Linux based servers
o Experience with HPLC/UPLC systems
o Experience with OPC Data Management
o Experience with Life Sciences Applications such as GE Unicorn
o Experience working with Active Directory
o Experience working with validated/qualified systems
o Experience in a high-availability, on-call environment

Non Technical:
o Excellent customer service skills - interfacing with customers and vendors
o Excellent Organizational skills - ability to manage time and multiple tasks
o Excellent written and verbal skills
o Strong problem solving skills

This position will require the individual to pass a physical before beginning employment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
